Gr8ter started with a simple but powerful idea:
No one should have to struggle with their mental health alone.

For years, much of the work behind Gr8ter has been powered by volunteers and passion. Kylee built something truly incredible by creating a space where people could find connection, hope, and community.

As Gr8ter continues to grow, so does the work that goes into making it all happen.
Planning events.
Building partnerships.
Sharing stories.
Organizing projects.
Creating spaces where people feel supported and seen.

What started as a passion project has grown into a movement that now requires dedicated time and leadership to sustain.

Donations during Idaho Gives will help support the people working behind the scenes to keep Gr8ter moving forward and expanding its impact.

Because this work matters.

And the community we’re building together matters even more.

This is an amazing video that shares with you our 10 years as Gr8ter! https://youtu.be/AdNDcECcoFg?si=C3eNaKDjYCNoQkYf

If you feel compelled this Idaho Gives to donate to Gr8ter this community would be forever Gr8tful. If you can`t give please share in hopes that someone in your circle can help us.

March 30 is World Bipolar Day — a day to increase understanding, reduce stigma, and remind people living with bipolar disorder:

You are not your diagnosis.
You are not your symptoms.
You are not “too much.”
And you absolutely can recover.

Bipolar disorder affects approximately 2.8% of U.S. adults each year, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. With appropriate treatment — including therapy, medication when needed, lifestyle stability, and community support — many people live full, meaningful, successful lives.

Recovery does not mean “never struggling again.”
Recovery means learning stability, self-awareness, support systems, and tools.

Bipolar disorder includes periods of:
• Depression
• Mania or hypomania
• Intense energy shifts
But a diagnosis does not define identity.

At Gr8ter Inc, we believe connection, movement, and purpose are stabilizing forces. Routine movement supports mood regulation. Community reduces shame. Purpose reminds people they are valuable beyond symptoms.

If you are living with bipolar disorder:
You are not broken.
You are not alone.
You are capable of stability and growth.

Resource:
The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance offers peer-led support groups and education for individuals and families.

Hope is not naive.
It is evidence-based.
And healing is possible. 💚

Recovery from self-harm is not linear.
There may be setbacks. There may be relapses. That does not erase progress.

Research shows that with therapy, supportive relationships, and healthier coping tools, self-harm behaviors can significantly decrease over time.

At Gr8ter, we believe:
• Movement reconnects you to your body safely
• Community reminds you that you belong
• Purpose restores identity beyond pain

Programs like Trail Fridays and Top of Tamarack create spaces where resilience is built step by step.

You are more than your coping mechanisms.

You are capable of healing.

Sometimes hope looks like something as simple as a pair of socks.

Through the Gr8ter Socks Project, we partner with mental health professionals, treatment centers, and community organizations to deliver care packages filled with warm socks and messages of encouragement.

It may seem small, but these moments matter.

For someone who feels unseen or forgotten, receiving a simple act of kindness can be a reminder that they are not alone.

Each package represents compassion, dignity, and the belief that every person deserves support during their hardest moments.

Your support during Idaho Gives helps make projects like this possible and allows us to continue reaching people who need hope the most.

Mental Health Recovery is real. And it belongs to all of us. 💚

The term mental health recovery was popularized by Patricia Deegan — someone who lived through her own diagnosis and redefined what healing could look like.

She reminded the world that recovery isn’t about “being cured.”
It’s about building a meaningful life — even with ongoing challenges.

At Gr8ter, we believe recovery looks like:
✨ Getting out of bed on the hard days
✨ Asking for help when you used to stay silent
✨ Finding connection instead of isolation
✨ Choosing to stay — one more day, one more moment

The Reality is:
1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year
Over 50% of people will be diagnosed with a mental health condition at some point in their lifetime

Suicide remains a leading cause of death — but it is preventable, and recovery is possible

🤝 You Are Not Alone

If you or someone you love is struggling, support is available:
📞 Call or text 988 – Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
💬 Chat: 988lifeline.org
🧡 Local support groups, peer support, and community spaces (like ours)

Recovery isn’t linear. It isn’t perfect.
But it is powerful. And it is possible.

If someone tells you they’re self-harming:
✔ Stay calm
✔ Thank them for trusting you
✔ Avoid shaming
✔ Encourage professional support
✔ Focus on safety planning

You don’t have to fix everything. You just have to stay.
Self-harm thrives in secrecy. Healing grows in consistent support.

Resource of the Week:
The National Alliance on Mental Illness offers family support groups and education programs for loved ones navigating mental health challenges.

No one should carry this alone.
